Are You a Worrywart? 3 Reasons Why You Might Be

If you’re always thinking there will never be enough, you’re absolutely right.”

Maybe if I just had a little bit more, then I could truly start living! Sound familiar? Are you always looking for just a little bit extra to really start living your life? But that magical number is never reached because you keep increasing it; $50 more becomes $100 more becomes whatever amount you then wish you had to maintain that scarcity mindset you’re so used to. If you’re nodding your head in agreement, I’m sorry to say your money personality type is that of a Worrywart. If your current situation prevents you from making any concrete long-term plans or even spending on things you want (and not just need), you’re living in scarcity.

The Worrywart Mindset

The Worrywart lives in a constant state of lack and scarcity, always feeling like they are just living to get by. Sometimes that fear can come from your past experiences and failures. You often feel like you never have enough money and that this will be your constant state in life. “What if” scenarios often play in your mind and they usually end in unwanted financial outcomes. Due to these constant thoughts of lack and scarcity, Worrywarts attract unforeseen circumstances that can further elevate their fearful money beliefs. Continuing to operate your life out of a scarcity mindset, will only result in constantly operating with limited resources, no matter how much money or power you might amass.

The Worrywart’s Spending

When it comes to spending money, you may shop around for a good deal or even decline invitations from friends and family to avoid spending money you feel you don’t have. This behaviour can often make you mistakenly believe that you are a good steward of money because you don’t spend on unnecessary things. However, the truth is that the Worrywart denies themself from fully experiencing life - they hardly ever treat themselves despite any life accomplishments. And if you find yourself avoiding any long-term planning or even spending on things you truly need (like a new car or even just replacing that 10 year old mattress), it means you view things like money, employment opportunities and even food as limited; not knowing when they might be taken away.

The Worrywart’s Emotional Connection to Money

You sometimes struggle with your sense of self-worth; often not feeling worthy and deserving of higher amounts of money. You believe wealth is reserved for others or that having a lot of money should not be a life goal even though deep down you truly wish you had more. The Worrywart is afraid to seek help from others in fear that it will reveal their current financial situation.

Ok, so you might be a WORRYWART

If all or most of that resonated with you, you might just be a Worrywart and the first step to overcoming the Worrywart mindset is to realize that everything begins and ends in your mind.

You have the power to control the thoughts that are controlling you. Start by repeating this out loud:

I have all that I need AND more. I live in abundance and I receive it now. It is mine.
