A Financial Culture of Now

This statement is more relatable than ever right now, especially coming out of a pandemic and with surveys suggesting that people are feeling financially fatigued. The uncertainty of the past few years has many people searching for ways to make money fast, instead of focusing on  their long-term goals.

There’s also a social pressure amongst Canadians to pretend they are financially savvy.

Seeing your peers “acting” knowledgeable can hinder you from asking the right questions and getting the best advice.

And as I discussed on an episode of The Couragecast with Andrea Crisp, even though this “culture of now” fueled by social media may seem appealing, it’s important to remember that a lot of what you’re seeing may actually be misinformation.
